The worst kept secret in Toronto is now official. 1050 CHUM will flip from its simulcast of Cable News CP24 to Sports as “TSN Radio 1050” on Wednesday, April 13.
Mike Richards, formerly of Rogers’ “Fan 960” in Calgary will host mornings. Fox Sports Radio’s Dan Patrick and Premiere Radio Networks Jim Rome will have their shows in the lineup. ESPN announcer Dan Shulman (former PBP voice of Toronto Blue Jays) will be a regular contributor to the station. Additional hosts will be announced at a later date. TSN Radio 1050 will also be the flagship station for the CFL Toronto Argonauts and the local affiliate for ESPN Radio.
This is the second go-round for Sports at the station. It had been “Team 1050” from May 2001 until September 2002 before reverting to Oldies.
