As Simmons Media moves to divest a number of stations required by its purchase of 3 Point Media and Millcreek Broadcasting last year, the aftershocks are beginning to be felt.
Active Rock “97.5 The Blaze” KZZQ Coalville, UT dropped its format at 12am last night and began simulcasting Sports “1280 The Zone” KZNS Salt Lake City. Both of those stations are in the SLC Divestiture Trust I overseen by Larry Patrick.
KZNS had been simulcasting since earlier this year on 104.7 KZNS-FM Lyman, WY which is remaining in Simmons possession.
“The Blaze” had returned to its Active Rock format last December following a run as Variety Hits under the same moniker. PD/Morning Host Roger Orton has a farewell message for the station on its Facebook page.
104.7 meanwhile has shifted to a Regional Mexican format.
