Haliburton Broadcast Group’s Hot AC “105.1 The River” CFLZ Niagara Falls, ON has flipped to Variety Hits “105.1 Ed-FM“.
The new station, positioned as “80’s, 90’s and Whatever Else” serves the eastern tip of the Niagara Peninsula as well as rimshotting portions of the neighboring Buffalo, NY market. The region is also served by the similarly formatted, albeit without the required Canadian content, programming of Townsquare Media’s “92.9 Jack-FM” WBUF Buffalo.
Along with the flip at 105.1, sister CHR “Z101” CKEY has simultaneously shifted its focus from a younger-skewing sound to a broader mix designed to absorb the River listeners in Southern Ontario looking for current music. While 105.1 does not appear in the Buffalo market ratings, 101.1 is a player in that market where it registered a 2.3 in the most recent trend.
