Carolina Christian Radio has announced today that it will drop the Christian CHR format of “88.5 The Edge” WZDG Scotts Hill/Wilmington NC on Monday, November 12.
Blaming the move on a financial shortfall, CCR will shift the programming of Christian Preaching/Talk “106.7 The Word” WMYT to 88.5 and attempt to sell the commercial 106.7 allocation. WECT-TV reports that the station recently lost an $8000 a month donor.
The following statement was released to listeners today:
Hi this is Jim Stephens and I have some sad news to share with our Edge listeners today. Because of shortfalls in support of our ministry we are going to have to sell one of our radio stations. Because of that, after seeking the Lord’s direction, the decision has been made by our Board of Directors to take The Edge off the air on Monday Nov. 12th. We’re thankful for over 5 1/2 years of ministry with the Edge and we appreciate you listening and your support. If you have any questions or comments, we have set up a place for you to write to us at edgeonover.com and we will try our best to respond to you in a timely fashion. If you love the type of ministry The Edge provides, I encourage you to check out Radiou.com. They have a high quality stream and a fantastic app for your mobile device. The music is basically just what you hear on The Edge and it is a great ministry.
God Bless you. And thank you.
In addition to WZDG and WMYT, Carolina Christian Radio owns Worship Music “89.7 The Dove” WDVV, Christian AC “Life 90.5” WWIL-FM, and Gospel “Gospel Joy 1490” WWIL in the Wilmington area.
