In a flip that somehow got past everybody after Christmas, Westplex Broadcasting’s Hot AC “Westplex 100.7” KFNS-FM Troy, MO flipped to Classic Rock “The Viper” on December 27.
Katy Kruze, who has worked at many St. Louis Rock stations will host middays under the new format, while the station picks up the syndicated Nights With Alice Cooper for nights.
KFNS-FM serves the northwestern suburbs of St. Louis.
I know this sounds crazy but could the name Viper be taken from professional wrestler Randy Orton who bills himself from St. Louis and uses the handle the Viper. Coinsidence or somethiing else.
Seems silly to me. Most of the coverage area of this station will be competing against KSHE which dominates the St. Louis market and to a smaller extent K-HITS. Part of me is skeptical that they’ll gain more listeners with this move.
