Ohana Media Group AAA “102.1 The Peak” KDBZ Anchorage dropped the format on Friday, March 7 to relaunch as Classic Hits “Oldies 102.1“.
The new format places the station in direct competition with Morris Communication’s “Kool 97.3” KEAG. Ohana does not subscribe to Nielsen Audio so we do not have any public numbers for KDBZ. KEAG was third in the market with a 6.6 share in the Fall 2013 book.
The station bid farewell with the following message on its Facebook page,
The Peak says goodbye….thank you for listening to the timeless variety we’ve presented for the past two & half years. The time has come for the Peak to move on…we invited to give a listen to our new offering…Oldies 102.1 withe greatest hits of the 60’s and 70’s.
