Delta Media has expanded Classic Country “Mustang 87.7” KXKW-LP Lafayette, LA to an additional signal.
Sister Hot AC “Mix 107.1” KOGM Opelousas has dropped its format to simulcast KXKW-LP. The simulcast doesn’t do much to extend the coverage are of Mustang, however with the LPTV analog shutdown coming next year, it allows the format to transition to a traditional radio frequency. KXKW-LP registered a 0.8 share in the Spring 2014 Nielsen Audio ratings, while KOGM did not subscribe.
The end of “Mix 107.1” makes two Lafayette area stations to drop their format today, along with “Rock 93.7” KRDJ.
I thought Mustang was modern country.
At least when I heard it on the air several months ago it was playing country hit after country hit.
I think their focus is on the 90s with a few current hits thrown in per hour, the 90s now being considered “classic.”
