Update 10/23: The sale has been filed with the FCC revealing that Dimes Media is paying $1 million for the five Mapleton Communications stations in the San Luis Obispo market.
Original Report 10/15: Mapleton Communications is selling its five stations and one translator in San Luis Obispo, CA to newcomer Dimes Media.
Dimes Media is headed by Eric Fahnoe, who is a member of the Buckley family currently in the process of winding down operations of Buckley Broadcasting after three generations. Fahnoe is the newphew of the late Rick Buckley and grandson of company founder Richard Dimes Buckley from which the new company takes its name. Fahnoe was Vice President/General Manager of Buckley’s Connecticut properties until their sale to Connoisseur Media earlier this year.
The five stations involved in the deal are:
- Soft AC “B93.7” 1340 KYNS San Luis Obispo/93.7 K229AK Baywood-Los Ososo
- Freeform Rock 94.9 KPYG Cayucos (Simulcasting 107.5 KPIG Freedom)
- Classic Rock “95.3/100.5 The Beach” 95.3 KXTZ Pismo Beach/100.5 KXDZ Templeton
- Rhythmic CHR “Wild 106.1” KWWV Santa Margarita
