I would like to compile a CD of vintage (1950-1969) WRAW airchecks for my mother in Kentucky. She grew up in Reading and I think it would make a cool mother's day gift.

Can anyone help me find some? I've found Philly, Scranton, and other cities but, not Reading.

Thanks!

I'd love to see smooth jazz become the format of choice at 107.5. After all, Berks County is the headquarters of the much-respected Berks Jazz Fest. That along with the fact that there's no smooth jazz signal in the area with the death of WJJZ (except for a little bit of Harrisburg's WSJW in the far west part of the western suburbs of Reading), I think the format could work. 107.5 puts a very good signal into the Philly suburbs and even into Philly itself. Could be a successful rimshot.

Is this true or just rumors? If Frank FM really does end up flipping formats, will anyone miss it? It's not like it's the only classic hits station in the area. We got 102.5 RFY and 99.9 The Hawk which has just about the same exact playlist as Frank Fm. If they do pull the plug on Frank, I can't imagine what would come to 107.5 next. I definitely don't see the religious format returning.

According to a thread on the other board, the LMA ends Nov. 30 and the sale itself will become extinct by Dec 21. This, coupled with a rumor that Nassau had layoffs in the Lehigh Valley cluster as well as the home base in Princeton, it's not looking good for Nassau and/or Frank FM. Another rumor suggests WDAC (the current owner of WFKB) has another buyer already lined up. Time will tell... but, it would appear "107.5 Alive" is not returning anytime soon.

What's the Lowdown (that dirty, dirty lowdown) on the future of classic hits, Frank FM. FYBUSH and 'other places' claim financially strapped Nassau, will have to bail out of there sometime 'twixt now and year end.

Back to One O Seven Five Alive? Something else?

It's getting worse, people...

Local paper ads are now trumpeting the advent of MANCOW, whose worse-than-Stern reputation as a morning host has been largely ignored by the media, to the 6 - 9 AM slot replacing the "First Team" show from Fox Sports Radio; on a happy note, Mike Mittman and his following oldies show appear safe...

I'd refer you to http://www.fox1470.com/, but it's rapidly becoming NSFW...

WEEX/WTKZ, with its far better area coverage, wins the derby for the Allentown minor-league ballclub over non-com WXLV, which never deserved the team in the first place (they're an arts and culture station by nature), and would have had to raise major bucks for a transmitter upgrade.

Sadly, this does displace the few NY Yankees fans still relying on 1230/1320 for coverage, but the hint made in the Morning Call was that co-owned WWYY (107.1 the Bone, lic. to Belvidere NJ but also operating from the same bldg. outside Easton) would inherit the Yanks' rights.

Hopefully the move will attract more and better advertiser interest...the 'Pigs have certainly gotten the response from area biz on other levels, and the only consistent client on the Yanks was a pr0n-shop chain...
