When are they going to put the online player up? I do believe they had it up early last October. I also believe they did the "Stocking Stuffer Song of the Day" last October too. What's going on?

I cannot believe not one Christmas channel on either XM or Sirius, you might think they would accomodate all the subscribers who love Christmas music, after all its November, they have channel space geeze, MC started Nov 1 and the local HD's have 3 and had 2 for over a month. I have XM at home and Sirius in my car. I should of never let the salesman talk me into Satellite on my new Taurus, I really wanted HD but he insisted it was no good and gave me a free Sirius lifetime membership, I should of taken the HD. But I would still like to have a full time main signal doing Christmas music at this time....but not like the B or OGL more like 97.5.

Joseph_Gallant on "Oprah Pulling The Plug On Her TV Show In 2011"

Oprah Winfrey, whose talk show in recent years has been the mosty popular daytime television show in the nation (network or syndicated), has announced that she will end the show at the conclusion of the 2010/2011 TV season, which would make an even 25 years in national syndication.

The much-speculated announcement was made official this morning (November 20th) during a taping of her show, which was broadcast live on WLS-7 in Chicago (prior to going national in 1986, Oprah did a local talk-show for WLS) and will be seen on tape (later today?) on most of the stations that air her show in afternoon timeslots.

Washington Post article: http://www.washingtonpost.com/tvblog/2009/11/oprah-yellow-brick-road-of-ble.html .

I would guess that the actual final first-run episode will air on May 26th, 2011 (the final day of the May, 2011 ratings "sweeps" and the 2010/2011 TV season), with reruns continuing until September.

Oprah is expected to help launch a cable network she part-owns (along with Discoevry Communications) called OWN. The launch date has slipped from this Fall to a date to be announced.

In the months ahead, expect syndicators to pitch numerous talk shows to stations that will be losing Oprah. Most "Oprah" stations air the show as a lead-in to early-evening local newscasts. If at least some stations find that expanding their late-afternoon/early-evening local news block would cost less than buying a syndicated talk show, the end result of Oprah leaving syndicated TV could be an expansion of early-evening local news on many stations that had been running her show.

This 60 minute reel tape starts out with Jim Driscoll and then TJ Cassidy back in 1974
on WBLI FM N.Y. This is a stereo FM station but I recorded it in mono.
Finding this tape was a total fluke!

I guess I'm going crazy again. I'm almost certain I heard her on B101 tonight. Two hours later, I'm hearing the voice of someone who is definitely a part-timer.

So I go to the Google because that's what you do when you have a question. I look at B101's DJ's page and she's gone. In fact, there's no one listed from 8pm until the morning show.

Now, I'm thinking, I'm pretty sure I saw her big old face on there the other day. So I go to the Google again. I decide to look for a cached version of the B101 DJ's page. And there's her big old face on the page, cached from just the day before yesterday. (http://74.125.93.132/search?q=cache:B7AEoCarKOIJ:www.b101radio.com/static/airstaff/djbios.asp+b101+dj%27s&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us)

Did they yank her off the station in the middle of the show?! Don't get me wrong: I can't stand her show so it's not like I'm upset or anything. It's just that...well, I'm pretty sure I heard her on there just a couple hours ago!

IT seems that WHLD will flip to become a talk radio station to compete against WBEN and WECK. Unlike WECK and WLVL WHLD has a better signal and will take on more successful shows. The flip will come in January. I'll secretly share the schedule here:

5AM-6AM: Wall Street Journal This Morning
6AM-9AM: Buffalo This Morning; hosts TBA
9AM-12PM: Glenn Beck
12PM-2PM: Fred Thompson
2PM-4PM: Joe Scarborough show from WABC
4PM-6PM: Buffalo This Afternoon; hosts TBA
6PM-9PM: Mark Levin
9PM-12AM: Michael Savage
12AM-3AM: Curtis Sliwa
3AM-5AM: Roy Masters

Weekends will feature a special editions of our new afternoon show along with brokered programming and local home&garden shows including a two hour show sponsored by Wegmans Food Markets airing Saturday mornings from 9-11AM. Stay tuned for more!
