All Yule for the next month and a half on WODS, WROR. As the
song from "Mame" goes, "It hasn't snowed a single flurry but
Santa dear we're in a hurry"...

It's been said that the flip could be as early as Monday 11/3/'08. That may be a week early, but they will probably drop hints today.

If either WODS-103.3 or WROR-105.7 go all-Christmas tomorrow (November 3rd), more than a week earlier than in 2007, I wonder if it will be due to presure from retailers and their ad agencies, worried about a terrible Christmas-shopping season. After all, retail is the dominant ad category for music-formatted radio.

After all, studies have proven that Christmas music in stores (and maybe also on radio??) has proven to be an excellent method of subliminally reminding people to "Get Your Christmas Shopping Done!".

Personally, if I were programming Greater Media's Boston stations and were to flip one to all-Christmas, I would flip WMJX-106.7 instead of WROR for the following two reasons:

    (1) In most cities, Soft AC stations are the ones that usually go all-Christmas. Format-and-demograhics-wise, it's the most compatible format with all-Christmas radio.

    (2) WROR and WODS have considerable overlap in the music they program. If WROR keeps it's regular format through November and December (with a handful of Christmas songs in December), it will pick-up quite a number of listeners who might want to hear that kind of music, while sister station WMJX would get the all-Christmas boost. It would be a "win-win" for Greater Media all around.

As of 3 P.M. EST November 3rd, there is as yet no all-Christmas station in Boston.

Well, as you can see from my post above (done on 11/12/07),
the flip last yr occured just after Veteran's Day, and in fact
I think it may have happened on Vet's Day itself. Maybe next
    Mon, Tue, or Wed?

Oldies 103 has officially flipped. Woke up to Christmas music at 6am. Not sure if anything happened before that. Nothing was listed on yes.com.

WROR apparently played Let It Snow at about 553am.

And I'm dropping both stations at least until Dec 26th, maybe forever.

Yep same here though I may eventually go back to them after the holiday. I do have alternatives, including XM in the car. It's
    all money

As usual http://www.100000watts.com has the roll call of stations
    doing all Yule

The direct link to 100000 Watts.com's list of all-Christmas stations is at http://www.100000watts.com/specials.asp .

This way, you can bypass their homepage.

I'll be avoiding these, among others:
