Last week it was noticed WRKO had replaced Coast 2 Coast with Howie Carr reruns (taken from 10 hours earlier in the day), 1-5 am. Turned out that RKO lost rights to Coast to Coast which soon landed on 1200

But are the Howie reruns gone already (not long after Jason Wolfe of WRKO told the Herald they were proud to double Howie's hours via the reruns)? WRKO site now lists "Red Eye" 1-5 am. I believe this is hosted by Doug McIntyre (done by Citadel?), a new show on WABC and KABC which is expanding nationwide.,

Howie is on vacation this week. They wouldn't just be picking up Red Eye for this week?
Or is it permanent? Again, strange so soon after this change, esp. with Wolfe making it sound like Howie was so valuable to RKO that they expanded his hours, and a banner ad on the RKO site said, "Want more Howie? YOU GOT IT!" Why?

"Red Eye" hosted by Doug McIntyre was formerly a KABC local show. Recently, it was brought back as a new national offering by Citadel, launching on KABC and WABC. It was announced that it would be nationwide, "with more affiliates to be announced."

Just Monday (Feb. 15), my TPMedia News Page received a news release from Citadel that "Red Eye" added WRKO, replacing Howie Carr reruns.

Expect more Citadel stations to add Doug McIntyre soon.

Also, he's doing an extra hour as local for KABC only.
