   Jay Towers (an extremely nice guy who I had the pleasure of knowing fifteen whole years ago!) has been doing mid-days on WISX lately. He's a programming and talent consultant for Clear Channel. So I wonder: Is he just voicetracking from wherever or is he actually local and working on getting 106.1's ratings up? Hopefully, it's the latter. Anyone know?

   BTW, Jay, if you are there: "Let's Get It Started" by Black Eyed Peas played during your shift (1:05 p.m.). It is the same fukkd-up (in two places) file they've been using since they launched the station with it in 2006. And it's been in rotation ever since!

   For the love of God, get a good copy of the song! I mean, seriously. This wouldn't even be allowed to happen in a smaller market. Like, say, Atlantic City for instance.

   According to All Access, remains based in DETROIT, but look for him to make plenty of trips to PHILLY for live shows, appearances and whatnot.

   haha. Talking about Mardi Gras, he just said, "I won't lie to ya, I was out a little too late last night in South Philly." Of course, if he's in Detroit, lying is exactly what he did there. Ya gotta love voice-tracking.

   Mind you, I'm not knocking the guy. He's a very nice person. And hey, at least he knows the area. Nothing worse than hearing a voice-tracker butcher the name of something every local knows how to pronounce!
