The New York Daily News is reporting that disgraced congressman Anthony Weiner is in negotiations to make the move to local talk radio. Suggesting Clear Channel’s 710 WOR and Cumulus’ 770 WABC as possible destinations, the Daily News states the program would air in a drivetime daypart. However, Politico adds that Cumulus denies it has had any interest in adding Weiner on WABC. Clear Channel’s WOR will be adding Sean Hannity from WABC in afternoons on January 1, but will have a morning drive opening after John Gambling retires on December 20.

660/101.9 WFAN New York Morning Hosts Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton will be seen nationally in 2014. Their 6-10am Eastern program will be simulcast on the CBS Sports cable network starting in January 2014. Boomer & Carton had been previously simulcast on MSG Network in the New York market until earlier this year. The CBS Sports Network is not the same as the CBS Sports Radio Network co-owned by CBS and Cumulus Media Networks. “TBD In The Morning” hosted by Tiki Barber, Dana Jacobsen, and Brandon Tierney will continue to be heard on the national radio network.
Update 11/26: Clear Channel and CMT have announced the deal in which Cody Alan will become host of After Midnite as part of a wider agreement between the companies. Alan will continue hosting CMT Radio Live in the 7pm-12am timeslot as well, which will be distributed by Clear Channel’s Premiere Radio Networks. The pact between Clear Channel and CMT will also see the pair develop additional programming and events across radio, television and digital platforms and cross-promotion between CMT, Clear Channel’s Country stations, and iHeartRadio. Herald Sports Media columnist Barry Jackson reports that Ticket morning co-host Marc Hochman will depart the station when his contract expires at the end of the year, while telling friends he’s heading to afternoons at Beasley’s 560 WQAM. Hochman has co-hosted WAXY’s morning show with Jonathan Zaslow since April 2012 after spending nine years producing Dan Le Batard’s afternoon show. Regionally syndicated morning show “The War Room with Quinn & Rose” is off the air after being unable to reach a new deal with flagship “FM NewsTalk 104.7” WPGB Pittsburgh. Jim Quinn and Rose Somma Tennent had hosted mornings on WPGB since the station launched its talk format in January 2004. Quinn previously had a long career as a music DJ in Pittsburgh before transitioning to Talk. The program was also syndicated to seven other stations in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic and had aired on one of the former XM Radio channels programmed by Clear Channel.
