JB & Sandy On Hunt For New Austin Home

Update 12/5: Sandy McIlree is following JB Hager in departing KAMX. The remainder of their morning team, Sara Osburn who also hosts afternoons and Alex Franco who also hosts nights will remain with the station. Entercom has sent out the following release regarding their departure: Entercom Austin today announced effective immediately that JB and Sandy Mcllree would no longer host morning drive on Austin’s Mix 94.7 and that a new morning show host had been hired. Vice-President of Programming Cat Thomas said, “We are excited about the future of Mix in 2014, and we will be naming our new host shortly. Anthony Weiner Heading To New York Radio?

The New York Daily News is reporting that disgraced congressman Anthony Weiner is in negotiations to make the move to local talk radio. Suggesting Clear Channel’s 710 WOR and Cumulus’ 770 WABC as possible destinations, the Daily News states the program would air in a drivetime daypart. However, Politico adds that Cumulus denies it has had any interest in adding Weiner on WABC. Clear Channel’s WOR will be adding Sean Hannity from WABC in afternoons on January 1, but will have a morning drive opening after John Gambling retires on December 20.

Candy & Potter Join Hot 103.7 Seattle

Entercom Rhythmic AC “Hot 103.7” KHTP Seattle has begun staffing up. Candy & Potter, most recently at Country “Q106.3” WWQM Madison, WI will return to the Seattle market to host mornings beginning on January 22, 2014. The duo began their radio career at CHR “106.1 Kiss-FM” KBKS Seattle and also hosted mornings at CBS’ Country 94.1 KMPS along with stations in Albany and Charlotte. KHTP has also hired Kristin The Island Girl for middays. Kristin previously hosted middays at KBKS from 2001 to 2009. Univision Replaces Piolin

Univision has debuted its new replacement program for Eddie ‘Piolin’ Soltelo. “El Bueno, La Mala, y El Feo” debuted this morning on Regional Mexican “LA 101.9” KSCA Los Angeles and in middays on “La Que Buena 97.5” KBNA El Paso, “Estereo Latino 102.9” KLTN Houston, 98.5 KGBT McAllen, and “Estereo Latino 92.9” KROM San Antonio. Univision states that the program will soon be heard in Albuquerque, Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Fresno, Las Vegas, Phoenix, San Diego, and San Francisco. Boomer & Carton Go National On TV

660/101.9 WFAN New York Morning Hosts Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton will be seen nationally in 2014. Their 6-10am Eastern program will be simulcast on the CBS Sports cable network starting in January 2014. Boomer & Carton had been previously simulcast on MSG Network in the New York market until earlier this year. The CBS Sports Network is not the same as the CBS Sports Radio Network co-owned by CBS and Cumulus Media Networks. “TBD In The Morning” hosted by Tiki Barber, Dana Jacobsen, and Brandon Tierney will continue to be heard on the national radio network.

Mike Huckabee To End Syndicated Show

Another day, another move in the Conservative Talk syndication shuffle. As first reported by Politco, Mike Huckabee announced today that his Cumulus Media Networks program will end on Thursday, December 14. The Fox News host and former Arkansas Governor and Presidential candidate began syndication in the 12-3pm Eastern timeslot in April 2012. Yesterday it was announced that Westwood One was moving Dennis Miller into that slot and replacing Huckabee on KLIF Dallas and KCMO Kansas City among other stations. On Monday, Cumulus announced that Geraldo Rivera would end his syndicated show at the end of the year. Dennis Miller Changes Timeslot; Goes Live In Dallas & Kansas City

As the Conservative Talk syndication shuffle continues, Westwood One has announced Dennis Miller will change his live clearance time in 2014. Now airing from 10am-1pm eastern, Miller’s show will move into the 12-3pm daypart as Westwood One prepares to complete its merger with Cumulus Media Networks. By moving to the new timeslot up against Rush Limbaugh, Miller has been rewarded with live clearances on Cumulus’ 570 KLIF Dallas, 710/103.7 KCMO Kansas City, and others to be announced, Both KLIF and KCMO has been airing Cumulus’ Mike Huckabee in that timeslot. Will Huckabee be moving to the recently vacated by Geraldo Rivera 9am-12pm eastern slot or are more changes ahead?

Cody Alan Heads After Midnite

Update 11/26: Clear Channel and CMT have announced the deal in which Cody Alan will become host of After Midnite as part of a wider agreement between the companies. Alan will continue hosting CMT Radio Live in the 7pm-12am timeslot as well, which will be distributed by Clear Channel’s Premiere Radio Networks. The pact between Clear Channel and CMT will also see the pair develop additional programming and events across radio, television and digital platforms and cross-promotion between CMT, Clear Channel’s Country stations, and iHeartRadio. Geraldo To Go Local On WABC; Depart Syndication

Cumulus Media Networks has announced that Geraldo Rivera will end his daily syndicated talk show at the end of the year. Rivera has been distributed live in the 9am to 12pm daypart since August 2012. Before entering national syndication he hosted two unique local shows for 770 WABC New York and 790 KABC Los Angeles. Cumulus has not revealed its plans if any for replacement programming for the daypart. Geraldo will not be leaving Cumulus as he will shift his program back to a New York only focus airing from 10am-12pm on WABC beginning January 1, 2014. WABC will be seeing the bulk of its daily lineup changing that day as Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity move to Clear Channel’s 710 WOR. The Miami Herald reports that a staff shakeup is taking place at Lincoln Financial Media Sports “790/104.3 The Ticket” WAXY South Miami/WAXY-FM Miramar, FL. Herald Sports Media columnist Barry Jackson reports that Ticket morning co-host Marc Hochman will depart the station when his contract expires at the end of the year, while telling friends he’s heading to afternoons at Beasley’s 560 WQAM. Hochman has co-hosted WAXY’s morning show with Jonathan Zaslow since April 2012 after spending nine years producing Dan Le Batard’s afternoon show. Regionally syndicated morning show “The War Room with Quinn & Rose” is off the air after being unable to reach a new deal with flagship “FM NewsTalk 104.7” WPGB Pittsburgh. Jim Quinn and Rose Somma Tennent had hosted mornings on WPGB since the station launched its talk format in January 2004. Quinn previously had a long career as a music DJ in Pittsburgh before transitioning to Talk. The program was also syndicated to seven other stations in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic and had aired on one of the former XM Radio channels programmed by Clear Channel. Premiere Cancels & Uncancels Randi Rhodes

After canceling syndicated Liberal Talk host Randi Rhodes earlier this week, Clear Channel’s Premiere Radio Networks has reversed course and signed her to a new contract. On Wednesday, Premiere announced that they would cease distribution of Rhodes’ program at the expiration of her contract at the end of the year. Just two days later Premiere has stated they have signed her to a one year contract extension through the end of 2014.
