Edward Walker’s Cityworks Community Broadcasting is selling AAA “101.5 The Music Place” WVMP Vinton/Roanoke, VA to William Amos’ Community Media Group for $175,000. iHeartMedia acquires the CP for 93.3 W227CX Magnolia Park/West Palm Beach from Way Media for $100,000. W227CX will rebroadcast an HD subchannel of 92.1 WRLX West Palm Beach. Shamrock Communications purchases the CP for 106.1 K291BX Las Vegas from Broadcast Towers for $15,000. Jonah Creek Media is disbanding its operations in two transfers. 88.9 KXMP Blowout and 99.1 K256BX Luckenbach, TX will be transferred to the newly formed Sun Radio Foundation. 100.1 K261DW Austin will go to Township Media, LLC doing business as SunRadio.com. 620 WSNR New York Sold

Peter Davidson’s Blackstrap Broadcasting is selling Russian News/Talk 620 WSNR Jersey City, NJ/New York to Gregory Davidzon’s Davidzon Radio for $12.5 million. The latter Davidzon has brokered the daytime programming on WSNR as “Davidzon Radio” since 2003. Starting on November 1, a new Time Brokerage Agreement will give him contol of the station’s programming 24/7. Blackstrap, who acquired WSNR and 1510 WUFC Boston from Paul Allen’s Rose City Radio in 2006, has been attempting to sell the stations for a few years now. A sale of both stations to Media America Corporation for $23,460,000 in 2011 never closed, while a controlled auction in 2012 of WSNR never led to a sale. Mapleton Sells San Luis Obispo Cluster

Update 10/23: The sale has been filed with the FCC revealing that Dimes Media is paying $1 million for the five Mapleton Communications stations in the San Luis Obispo market. Original Report 10/15: Mapleton Communications is selling its five stations and one translator in San Luis Obispo, CA to newcomer Dimes Media. Dimes Media is headed by Eric Fahnoe, who is a member of the Buckley family currently in the process of winding down operations of Buckley Broadcasting after three generations. Fahnoe is the newphew of the late Rick Buckley and grandson of company founder Richard Dimes Buckley from which the new company takes its name. Radio Training Network Acquires KWFC Springfield, MO

Radio Training Network is adding a second FM in Springfield, MO. The company, which already owns Christian AC “88.3 The Wind” KWND Springfield, is acquiring Southern Gospel 89.1 KWFC from Baptist Bible College for $1.3 million. The purchase price will be split from $845,000 in cash and $456,000 worth of underwriting to be split into 18,250 spots on KWFC and KWND over six years. Radio Training Network currently owns 21 stations and 82 translators mainly in the southeastern states. The company operates the “His Radio” network in the Carolinas and “The Joy FM” network in Alabama, Florida and Georgia.

Union Broadcasting Acquires 93.9 WLCL Louisville

Cumulus Media is completing its exit from Louisville as it sells 93.9 WLCL Sellersburg, IN to UB Louisville for $3,138,000. Union currently owns Sports “ESPN Louisville” 680 WHBE Newburg/105.7 WHBE-FM Eminence in the market and this acquisition gives the company a city-grade signal to bring the programming to FM throughout the market. Union will begin operating the currently silent WLCL under an LMA before the sale closes. Union Broadcasting also owns a pair of AM’s in Kansas City. The sale ends the odd run of Cumulus in Louisville, who acquired the stations as part of its purchase of Susquehanna Radio in 2006. Artistic Sells South Bend But Keeps It In The Family

Arthur A. Angotti is selling Artistic Media Partners three FM’s in South Bend, IN to Sound Management, LLC. The $3.5 million sale of CHR “U93” WNDV-FM and Classic Hits simulcast “The Stream” 97.7 WSSM Goshen/102.3 WSMM New Carlisle will transfer operations of the stations to Angotti’s son Arthur A. Angotti III. Sound Management’s ownership will have 45% held by Angotti III, 10% by Barbara Angotti, and 45% by Artistic Media Partners. Sound Management will begin operating the stations via LMA on November 1. Angotti III currently serves as President of Aristic. That company will continue to own WNDV simulcast 1620 WDND South Bend, two FMs in Bloomington, and 1 AM and 3 FMs in Lafayette, IN.

Lazer Expands Into Sacramento & Modesto

Lazer Broadcasting is acquiring four radio and one LPTV stations from Adelante Media in Central California. The $2.9 million purchase will bring Lazer into the Sacramento and Modesto markets. The company currently owns twenty Spanish language stations in Central and Southern California including the markets of Bakersfield, Oxnard, Riverside, San Jose, Santa Barbara, and Reno, NV. Lazer will begin operating the stations today via LMA. Walnut Radio Adds KOMJ Omaha

Steve Seline’s Walnut Radio LLC. has purchased Soft AC/Standards “Magic 1490” KOMJ Omaha from Cochise Radio Partners. KOMJ becomes the fourth Nebraska station purchased by Walnut Radio this year joining “Country 97.3” KBLR-FM Blair, AC “Mix 105.5” KFMT-FM Fremont, and News/Talk 1340 KHUB Fremont. Before forming Walnut Radio LLC, Steve Seline was formerly Vice Chairman of Waitt Media.

Station Sales Greg Jensen’s Hometown Broadcasting of Rochester is acquiring Beautiful Music 97.5 KNXR Rochester, MN. The purchase price is contingent on Minnesota Public Radio agreeing to a lease or allowing the buyer to purchase the seller’s share of Silver Creek Tall Tower Associates, which operates KNXR’s transmission facility. If Jensen acquires the share of the tower site he will pay $1.1 million, if he simply leases the site the sale price drops to $714,910. Hometown Broadcasting also owns Classic Rock “Power 96” KQPR Albert Lea and Classic Country 970 KQAQ Austin, MN. Original Report 10/10: Alpha Media is expanding into California with the purchase of Buckley Broadcasting’s six stations in Bakersfield and Merced. Excluded from the sale are the KFTI call letters and the current intellectual property of the station. Original Report 10/10: Journal Broadcast Group has found a buyer for its necessitated divestiture of Classic Country 92.3 KFTI Newton/Wichita, KS. Envision Broadcast Network, LLC will acquire KFTI for an undisclosed amount. Translator Sales Steve Hegwood’s Core Communicators is converting its lease of 94.5 W233BF Atlanta into a purchase. Edgewater Broadcasting will receive $53,000 for the translator, which currently operates as Urban “Streetz 94.5” via a rebroadcast of 94.1 WSTR-HD3. Hegwood had previously applied to purchase the translator in 2010 for $60,000, but that deal never closed. Curtis Media’s Eastern Airwaves adds yet another Raleigh area translator with the acquisition of the CP for 93.3 W227CU Cary from Juan Alberto Ayala for $150,000. Curtis will utilize the translator to rebroadcast an HD subchannel of their 94.7 WQDR Raleigh pending an additional modification to the CP. Patricia J.
