Delmarva Expands Its Wilmington, DE Cluster

Delmarva will be paying $3.2 million for WFAI and WJKS. Original Report: Delmarva Broadcasting is expanding its holdings in Wilmington, DE with the purchase of Urban “Kiss 101.7” WJKS Canton, NJ and Gospel “Faith 1510” WFAI Salem, NJ from QC Communications. The two stations will join a Delmarva cluster that includes CHR 93.7 WSTW Wilmington, Country 103.7 WXCY Havre de Grace, MD and News/Talk 1150 WDEL Wilmington. Delmarva will begin operating the two stations via LMA on January 1. No price was disclosed for the purchase.

WRCM/WMHK Flip To K-Love

EMF will close on their purchase of the three stations and one translator from Columbia International University today. The closing will accompany the end of local programming on “New Life 91.9” WRCM Wingate/88.3 WRZM Boiling Springs/101.5 W268BU Mooresville, NC in the Charlotte market and 89.7 WMHK Columbia, SC. The stations will all join EMF’s “K-Love” network. Both stations have posted farewell messages on their websites. $3.5 Million Sale For NYC Translator

The long and winding road for Michael and Tammy Celenza’s Apple 107.1 to move and upgrade 106.3 W292DV New York has come to an end. John Bridge’s Big Apple Broadcasting has agreed to purchase the translator for $3.5 million. Bridge acquired 103.9 W280EM Chicago earlier this year, which is soon set to launch as Urban Jazz “The Groove“. W292DV is best known for its ill-fated attempt to relocate to 4 Times Square in 2011 where it was to be operated by Clear Channel. That move was shot down due to interference complaints by Press Communications’ WKMK Eatontown, NJ. The translator finally settled in Long Island City, Queens where it currently operates with 4 watts at 200 meters (Coverage Map) via STA with an application to make that permanent. Disney Sells WDYZ Orlando

The sell-off of the Radio Disney stations continues as Salem Communications adds a fourth AM in Orlando. Salem’s Pennsylvania Media Associates license holding company will pay Disney $1.3 million for 990 WDYZ Orlando. The acquisition will join Salem’s trio of Conservative Talk “660 The Answer” WORL, Christian Preaching 950 WTLN, and Business Talk 1520 WBZW in the Orlando market. WDYZ operates with 50kW daytime and 10kW nights.

Cox Media acquires the CP for 99.5 W258CN Jacksonville, FL from Barry Magrill for $350,000. The translator will operate with 250 watts at 268 meters and rebroadcast an HD subchannel of Cox’s 104.5 WOKV-FM. TSJ Radio is converting its LMA of Spanish CHR “Mega 97.7” WOXY Mason/Cincinnati to a purchase. TSJ will pay Queen Cities Broadcasting $900,000 for the station. One of two stations licensed to operate on 87.9, KSFH Mountain View, CA is being transferred by St. Francis High School of Mountain View to Mountain View Public Broadcasting for $20,000. William Blevins’ Signal Hill Media Partners is acquiring “Country Legends 550” WAME Statesville, NC from the George H. Buck, Jr. Trust for $280,000. As part of the deal the trust will transfer 92.9 W225BD Statesville to its WHVN Inc. Once Blevins pays off the note for the acquisition he will acquire the translator for $10. Until then he will lease it for $1 per year to continue rebroadcasting WAME. Southern Belle and Seven Mountains Media continue their growth in Central Pennsylvania with the purchase of “Country 92.5” WJUN-FM Mexico and Classic Hits “Wheels 106.1” WLZS Beaver Springs from Radio Starview for $650,000. Formerly licensed to Hartford, VT the station recently completed its move to Keeseville where it serves the Burlington, VT/Plattsburgh, NY market. In exchange for the station, Electromagnetic will receive a 6.4% stake in Great Eastern. WECM is currently stunting with Christmas Music as “Ho Ho 104“. Simmons Media is acquiring the three stations and two translators in Missoula, MT owned by Spanish Peaks Broadcasting. AAA “Trail 103.3” KDTR Florence, Hot AC “U104.5” KKVU Stevensville, Variety Hits “105.9 Jack-FM” KYJK Missoula, “ESPN Montana” 102.9 K275BS Missoula/KKVU-HD4 and 105.3 K287AW Hamilton will be transferred to Simmons affiliate Missoula Broadcasting for the absolution of loans owed by Spanish Peaks to Simmons. Simmons will begin operating via Time Brokerage Agreement on December 1. Wilks Broadcasting Sells Their Three Fresno Stations To One Putt Broadcasting Hubbard Acquires 16 Minnesota Stations From Omni Broadcasting Chaparral Broadcasting sells Classic Hits “Mojo 92.5” KBXI Park City/Billings, MT to Kurtis Anthony Breuning’s Anthony Media for $650,000. Anthony has been operating the station via a Time Brokerage Agreement since February 2010. If within five years of the closing of the sale Anthony sells the station, Chaparral will receive 20% of the proceeds exceeding the original $650,000 purchase price. Should Anthony enter into an LMA, JSA, TBA, or similar agreement with a third party, Chaparral will receive $70,000.
