(2) If someone else in Phoenix beats out KEZ in going all-Christmas, KEZ will have to respond quickly, perhaps within minutes (much like what happened in Birmingham this past week, where two stations flipped within minutes of each other), even if it’s earlier than they want to.
And that could be a scenario in Phoenix this…[Read more]
KFTI will be sold to Envision as part of the Journal-Scripps merger. This leaves the remainder of Journal’s stations (KFXJ, KFDI, KLIO, KICT) in a trust. Who do you think will get them? My take is Alpha, since they’re on a buying streak lately.
As Kent said, Scripps has stated its intention to retain Wichita (and all of…[Read more]

And neither group, to the best of my knowledge, has laid off employees en masse (which Cumulus and iFart engage in with depressing regularity).
iFart? Are we in middle school? From an administrative perspective it’s hard to take anybody serious when they result to juvenile name calling.
Every company has their positives and…[Read more]
It’s a corporate priority to get CBS Sports Radio cleared in major markets,
That was mainly to help get the network off the ground with as many clearances as possible. The company now has KFWB Los Angeles in place clearing the network and has picked up affiliates in many markets. Partner Cumulus has shifted priorities from CBS…[Read more]
I’m trying to understand this… did Beasley get just the 610 facility, or did they also acquire the intellectual property associated with WIP (AM)?
The only intellectual property 610 has left is the call letters. As CBS utilizes WIP as its brand on 94.1 it will most definitely retain ownership of the call letters.

At this point it is inevitable that CBS will sell out of Cleveland. The only markets they intend to keep are Top 10 markets and possibly some where the also own the primary CBS television affiliate such as today’s acquisition of Miami.
Think of newer and growing companies like Alpha, Digity, Steel City, or Hubbard as opposed to the old guard as…[Read more]

Jerry Del Colliano, the publisher of that site is a fear-monger. He uses those tactics to scare people into why they need to pay him to subscribe to his newsletter. If that’s how he wants to make money now more power to him as I know he’s making a lot more that way than I am running this site.
His motive is to constantly attack the big radio…[Read more]
Wouldn’t CBS be able to buy WJBR as well, if it wanted?
Apparently CBS could as long as they didn’t move it into the Philadelphia market where they’ll be maxed out. At that point would they want it when they’re trying to divest of stations in much larger markets than Wilmington with similar overlap to an adjacent market like Riverside…[Read more]
Or – it was a typo and they were referring to the HD-2 oldies.
Not a typo. The application stated 106.1 will rebroadcast KGLK-HD3.
The translator just signed-on and is likely testing before Tyler launches a new format via an HD subchannel.
Expect that simulcast to be permanent. 890’s call letters are now KMJE, while 92.1 became KMJE-FM.
I can confirm what Nathan mentioned above: KFWB registered several domain names with the word “Beast” but right now the URL is simply http://kfwbam.com/
Lance Venta replied to the topic Totally off-topic threads in the regional boards, shouldn't you delete them? in the forum Questions & Suggestions 2 months, 1 week ago
Nope. Music playlists affect ratings, which affect revenue. Off topic posts are just a pain in the read end.
You know there’s a whole thing called not clicking on a post that doesn’t interest you right? Not every post on every board is going to be a topic of interest to even the most avid of listeners.
Oh, thanks. I could only see t.co and wp.me and didn’t know what that was.

According to Twitter on the right side of this page.
I don’t go to unfamiliar sites at home so I’ll leave it to someone else.
You do realize that it’s a link to the primary news portion of THIS VERY SITE, no?
More likely to protect/enhance the coverage of 95.1 KVIB from a co-channel signal on South Mountain. Riviera can put Latino Vibe on an HD subchannel and use the translator to feed it.

This is how the forum looks on my new Windows 7 computer running IE10:
The site looks fine in IE11, but IE11 has bugs and new “features” I don’t like, so I’d prefer to stick with IE10.
It looks like your browser isn’t loading one our CSS files to style the page correctly. If AudioGuy’s…[Read more]
Thanks for all the info, the reason I was curious; because HFS has a good following in the Baltimore metro and since they moved from a strong signal at W248AO 97.5, they are now on flea power W285EJ 104.9, WLIF tower. With a reason for the audience to go over to WWMX HD-2 for HFS, because 104.9 is unlistenable in many areas, why…
I think this thread has reached its limit as it has basically just become a back and forth of he said/he said.
If there’s a reason to discuss the merits of the translator’s move to 94.7 in terms of coverage or if something newsworthy happens with the station feel free to start a new topic, but time to close this thread.
