Cumulus Media has made multiple changes to its Montgomery AL programming team.
Wes McShay exits as Operations Manager of the cluster and Program Director of Country 92.3 WLWI-FM. He is succeeded as OM by Rick Hendrick, PD of Classic Rock “95.1 The Fox” WXFX. Greg Thomas joins the company as WLWI-FM’s new Program Director from Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa where he served as OM of that company’s five station cluster.
Joe Hunk joins the cluster from sister 94.5 WJOX-FM Birmingham as PD of “SportsRadio 740” WMSP and News/Talk 1440 WLWI replacing the departing Bob Wooddy. Hunk will also debut a local afternoon show on WMSP. He currently a co-hosts 6-8pm show with Jon Lunceford at WJOX-FM.
Cumulus Media announces that it has promoted Rick Hendrick to Operations Manager for its six-station cluster in Montgomery, AL. In addition to his new role, Hendrick will retain his responsibilities as Program Director of WXFX. Cumulus also announces the appointment of two new program directors for the cluster, effective September 19, 2016. Greg Thomas will join Cumulus Media-Montgomery as Program Director for its heritage country station WLWI-FM and Joe Hunk will join Cumulus Media-Montgomery as Program Director of WMSP Sports and WLWI-AM News Talk. Hunk will also be on-air as Afternoon Drive Host on WMSP, replacing the syndicated Doug Gottlieb show.
Thomas has spent the past 14 years as the Operations Manager of Townsquare Media’ s five-station cluster in Tuscaloosa, AL. Hunk joins Cumulus from WJOX 94.5 FM Sports Radio in Birmingham.
