Genuine Austin Radio is converting its LMA of Sports “104.9 The Horn” KTXX-FM Bee Cave/Austin and 1260 KLGO Elgin TX from Total Austin Sports Radio LLC into a purchase for $3.2 million. Genuine Austin Radio, which operates as Austin Radio Network began operating the stations at the start of 2014. The company also owns Classic Country 99.3 KOKE-FM Thorndale/1490 KTAE Austin.
Tony Richards’ Kensington Digital Media is acquiring Classic Country 1010 WHIN/100.7 W264CR Gallatin TN from WHIN Inc. for $325,000. Richards, who also serves as President of Indiana’s Federated Media, also owns Classic Hits “Hippie Radio 94.5” WHPY-FM Bellevue/Nashville.
Required by its recent acquisition of stations from Red Rocks Radio, Midwest Communications is selling Classic Rock 102.9 KMFG Nashwauk MN to Refuge Media Group for $96,000. Refuge will convert KMFG to non-commercial status as part of its “Refuge Radio” Christian network.
Lawrenceville Broadcasting Company sells AC 910 WAKO/103.1 WAKO-FM Lawrenceville IL/Vincennes IN to David Crooks’ DLC Media for $565,000. DLC, which owns three other stations in the Vincennes market and operates another by LMA, will begin operating WAKO/WAKO-FM via LMA on September 26.
Educational Media Foundation is donating 90.3 KDRI Grants and 88.1 KGGA Gallup NM to the Board of Education of the City of Albuquerque. The two stations will join the network of Public News/Spanish 89.1 KANW Albuquerque.
As part of its Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation, Pataphysical Broadcasting Foundation is transferring the license for former AAA 88.9 KUSP Santa Cruz CA to trustee John Richardson.
