Radio One has made changes at two of its three Cincinnati stations.
Urban Oldies “Old School 100.3” WOSL Norwood has shifted to Urban AC as “100.3 R&B” featuring core artists such as R. Kelly, Jill Scott, Usher, Notorious BIG, Prince, and Mary J. Blige. The Urban Oldies moves to former Gospel “Praise 1230” WDBZ/101.5 W268CM Cincinnati as “Soul 101.5“.
The Tom Joyner Morning Show and middayer Emanuel Livington will move from WOSL to “Soul 101.5“. The Lincoln Ware Show will remain in place from 10am-12pm, while former WOSL host Fredd E. Redd rejoins for afternoons.
“100.3 R&B” will pick up the Russ Parr morning show. 93.1 WZAK Cleveland middayer Sam Sylk will add those duties in Cincinnati as well. K2 remains in afternoons and “Love & R&B with John Monds” at night.
I’m not surprised Radio One has made these changes. 100.3 is back to Urban AC, the Same format they had when they went on the air as WMOJ in 2006. How long will this last is anyone’s guess. 1230 now has a translator so a more wider appealing format should help them. Gospel is already covered by 1050AM which now has a translator on 103.1. 1320 WCVG is also Gospel.
