FCC Report 1/15: KROY Gets Deleted - RadioInsight
The pending sale of Roy Henderson's 99.7 KROY Palacios TX to New Wavo II will not proceed as the FCC has dismissed its 2013 license renewal and deleted the station. The saga of KROY began in November of 2007 when it filed for a Silent STA after its tower site was dismantled. A 2009 CP to move to a new location was never filed for a license to cover in July 2012 and was Silent or operating without FCC authorization. In response to an FCC letter of inquiry, Henderson stated that KROY operated from March 1 through 9, 2013 and December 23, 2013 through January 2, 2014 at sites without a license or STA. That kept the station silent in the FCC's eyes from December 26, 2009 when its final STA expired and March 15, 2014 when it began Program Test Authority. The FCC determined that the station's license should've expired on 12/26/2010 and has deleted the station and all its underlining applications.
