After exiting overnights at KMOX, Jon Grayson too is joining CH Radio Holdings’ News/Talk 550 KTRS.
Grayson will take the 10am-12pm slot on KTRS previously held Martin Kilcoyne and Randi Naughton starting March 13. Doug McElvein, who we noted below was taking that shift, is actually only filling in next week and then on an as needed basis.
Original Report 7:30am: Jon Grayson is out, Doug McElvein is back, and both Tom Ackerman and Michael Calhoun have increased roles as News/Talkers 550 KTRS and 1120 KMOX St. Louis make on-air changes.
At KMOX, Tom Ackerman is promoted to co-host of the station’s “Total Information AM” morning show in addition to his current role as Sports Director for the station. He joins Michael Calhoun and Debbie Monterrey on the morning show. With the addition of Ackerman, Calhoun will also add field and spot new reporting at the station.
Overnight host Jon Grayson is exiting KMOX. Grayson’s “Overnight America” had been syndicated by Westwood One through the end on 2016, but now he will exit KMOX as well. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Grayson was connected to the late morning opening on CH Radio Holdings’ 550 KTRS but that position went to another KMOX alum.
Former Total Information AM host Doug McElvein will take the 10am-12pm slot on KTRS previously held Martin Kilcoyne and Randi Naughton. McElvein had worked at KMOX for 22 years until being laid off at the end of 2015.
