Cumulus Country “97.9 Nash-FM” KQFC Boise has dropped the national brand and has flipped to Classic Country as “97.9 KQFC“.
Steve Shannon, APD/Afternoon host at sister Country “Kissin 92” 92.3 KIZN Boise moves to KQFC for mornings replacing the syndicated Ty, Kelly & Chuck. Tommy Collins moves from afternoons to middays, while KIZN/KQFC Program Director Hank Aaron moves from KIZN middays to afternoons at KQFC. Rachelle French, a producer at Cumulus’ Chicago cluster, will voicetrack nights.
At KIZN Cory and Jeni remain in place in mornings, while Rick O’Brian moves from weekends to middays on an interim basis, and Rick Daniels moves from afternoons at KQFC. The syndicated Nash Nights Live and Blair Garner will round out the Kissin 92 lineup.
KQFC was the lowest rated of four Country stations in the Boise market during the Fall 2016 Nielsen Audio ratings with a 2.1 share. Impact Radio Group’s “101.9 The Bull” KQBL was second in the market overall with a 5.2 share, Townsquare Media’s “Wow 104.3” KAWO held a 3.6 share, while KIZN barely bested KQFC with a 2.3 share.
