The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that CBS Radio has cut at least four staffers at News/Talk 1080 KRLD Dallas.
The most prominent name on the list is overnight host Charley Jones. Jones hosted “Texas Overnight” on KRLD and regionally syndicated on the Texas State Network. Also exiting are Reporter/Assistant News Director Matt Thomas, Sports Anchor Roger Emrich, and Features Reporter J.D. Ryan. All have been with KRLD for over a decade.
While not many names have come out, it appears a few other staffers have been dismissed at other CBS Radio outlets. CBS Sports Radio Digital Content Manager Jake Brown tweeted his exit last week.
There may have also been at least one cut at KRLD-FM (The Fan)…

Actually, I misread that tweet: Roger Emrich may have officially worked for both AM and FM.
As a former announcer, and producer at KRLD for over 8 years, I am surprised at this move.
I still listen to KRLD, as an anchor for quick news information.
Very often, due to my alternating work schedule, I listened to Charley Jones, as a source of stability in today’s changing climate.
I will miss Charley’s insight, and variety in programming skills.
In comment, to my former employer ( KRLD ), I believe it was a mistake to release Charley Jones.
