As expected KFLY flipped to Country at 3pm today as “US 101“. Pat Garrett, former Program Director of Cumulus Country “K-Bull 93” 93.3 KUBL-FM Salt Lake City and MD/Afternoon Host at CBS’ 94.1 KMPS Seattle, will serve as Program Director and Afternoon Host for KFLY.
The syndicated Bobby Bones Show will air in mornings. Angie Foster, morning co-host at Bicoastal Media’s 99.9 KRKT Albany OR, will host middays. The syndicated Big Time with Whitney Allen will round out the “US 101” lineup.
Original Report 8am: Bicoastal Media AAA “World Class Rock 101.5” KFLY Corvalis/Eugene OR has dropped its format and is stunting with a robotic countdown clock.
The countdown clock is timing down to 3:00pm interspliced with irreverent sweepers teasing various formats and giving out the phone numbers of local television stations asking listeners to call for more informations.
Expectations within the Eugene market are for the station to flip to Country to take on McKenzie River Broadcasting’s market leading “New Country 93” 93.3 KKNU Springfield. KKNU registered a 12.8 share in the Fall 2016 Nielsen Audio ratings, while KFLY held just a mere 0.9 share of the market. When KFLY dropped its low-rated Active Rock format for AAA in July 2015, it had registered a 2.6 share in the previous ratings book.
