Grupo Latino de Radio, a subsidiary of Spanish media conglomerate Prisa, seeks to increase their stake in Spanish News/Talk “Caracol 1260” WSUA Miami from 25% to 100% by buying out Eucario Bermudez for $270,000. One of the first cases of the new streamlined foreign ownership rules that allow foreign companies to outright purchase stations following review by the FCC and other federal agencies.
As previously reported, JVC Media has sold Oldies “True Oldies 93.5” WBGF Belle Glade FL to Zoo Communications for $1.1 million. Upon completion of the sale, WBGF will join the Dance “Revolution 93.5” WZFL Islamorada/W228BV Fort Lauderdale/W228BY Miami synchrocast.
Jeff Davis’ Imperial Broadcasting Company acquires Adult Hits “Smash Hits” 1330 WHGM Havre de Grace/100.5 W263CQ Chesapeake City/107.5 W298CG Bel Air MD from CRS Radio Holdings and Astrakel International for $405,214.09.
Hammond Broadcasting Group purchases “Radio Salaam Namaste” 1480 KBXD Dallas from Mark Jorgenson’s ACM JCE IV B LLC for $600,000. Hammond owns 700 KHSE Wylie and 1110 KVTT Mineral Wells and a stake in the company that brokers time on 1540 KZMP University Park in the Dallas market. A previous sale of KBXD to Chris Muse in 2016 for $1.5 million never closed.
Frederico Moron’s Scarlet Begonia Productions purchases Classic Rock 107.1 KRXB Beeville TX from TexKan Communications for $215,000.
Red Mountain Ventures acquires Regional Mexican 1450 WZGX Bessemer/Birmingham AL from Bar Broadcasting for $200,000. The buyer will begin operating the station via Time Brokerage Agreement on July 1 to feed Sports “99.1 The Game” to W256CD Fultondale.
Punjabi American Media acquires Silent 1350 KLHC Bakersfield CA from Centro Cristiano Vida Abundante for $300,000.
Midwest Communications sells 95.3 WXXZ Grand Marais, 106.7 KAOD Babbit, and 105.5 W288AI Ely MN to Matthew Butler’s Aurora Broadcasting for $75,000. All three signals simulcast Classic Rock “95 KQDS” 94.9 KQDS-FM Duluth.
The Estate of Cary Simpson sells Full Service 1340 WTRN/100.7 W264BZ Tyrone PA to Lightner Communications for $90,000.
Bowen Broadcasting sells the CP for KPDJ Calhoun/Monroe LA to Educational Media Foundation for $110,000.
North Texas Radio Group acquires the CP for 99.7 Cuney/Jacksonville TX from New Wavo Communications Group for $42,800.
St. Joseph’s Radio Station sells the CP for 91.5 WSJQ Pascoag RI to Epic Light Radio for $1. WSJQ will rebroadcast the buyer’s Christian CHR “90.1 The Q” WYQQ Charlton MA when it signs-on.
