After nearly two years of waiting for the FCC to approve their acquisition of Spanish Christian “Radio Nueva Vida” 98.5 WLVO San Carlos Park/Fort Myers FL, Sun Broadcasting has closed on the purchase from Educational Media Foundation.
As tipped in this morning’s Daily Domains, Sun wasted no time and has flipped the station to Urban “Fly 98.5” with new WFFY calls in place. Positioned as “Non-Stop Hip-Hop” the station is being led by veteran programmer Scrap Jackson. Jackson previously spent a decade programming iHeartMedia Rhythmic CHR “105.5 The Beat” WBTT and CHR “Z100” WZJZ in the Fort Myers market and also helped launch “B96” KTTB Minneapolis and “Radio Now 93.1” WNOU Indianapolis during his career.
