It has been a busy month for changes in Santa Rosa CA.
Earlier this month Sinclair Communications flipped CHR “Y100.9” KSXY to an Alternative/CHR hybird as “The 101“. Then Amaturo Sonoma Media relaunched Hot AC “Mix 104.9” KMXH as Classic Hits “K-Hits 104.9“. In between there was another change that slid in under the radar.
Redwood Empire Stereocasters moved the Smooth Jazz programming of 93.7 KJZY Sebastopol to newly launched 99.1 K256DA Santa Rosa/KJZY-HD2 as “Smooth Jazz 99.1” on September 11. The shift cleared KJZY to flip to Soft AC as “Smooth-FM 93.7“. The new format squeezes between the company’s AC 100.1 KZST and Classic Hits “102.7 The Wolf” KWVF. Redwood Empire owner/President Gordon Zlot will program both versions of KJZY. KJZY personalities Scott Mitchell, Karen Lehman, and Troy Duran will host airshifts on both KJZY and K256DA.
