Carroll Enterprises has closed on its $175,000 purchase of the former 106.1 WHST Tawas City MI from Northern Christian Radio and has flipped the station to Hot AC “106.1 The Point” WTZI.
The Michigan Association of Broadcasters reports the station will emphasize music over other elements with owner John Carroll stating, “We are proud to launch this new station to serve our community with local information, weather and today’s hit music. We also wanted to bring a station to market with less talk and more music. When listening to ‘The Point,’ that’s exactly what you a get. ‘The Point’ is a maximum-music, less talk station!”
WTZM joins a Carroll cluster that includes Classic Hits 103.3 WQLB Tawas City (simulcast on 94.9 WKJZ Hillman), Country 104.7 WKJC Tawas City and Talk 1480 WIOS Tawas City.
