iHeartMedia News/Talk 850 KOA/94.1 K231AA Boulder/K231BQ Golden CO has appointed Marty Lenz as its new co-anchor of Colorado’s Morning News.
Lenz will debut on KOA on January 8 alongside co-anchor April Zesbaugh filling the opening created by Stefan Tubbs’ July arrest for suspected domestic violence, disturbance by phone. Tubbs has since had all charges against him dropped but the company chose not to rehire him.
Lenz joins KOA from Entercom News 740 KCBS/106.9 KFRC San Francisco where he has worked since 2010 as well as KRON-TV and NBC Sports Bay Area. He is a Denver area native and played football at Colorado State University before working in the market at AC 101.1 KOSI, Classic Rock “99.5 The Hawk” KKHK, Smooth Jazz 95.7 KHIH, Hot AC “Mix 100” KIMN, Rhythmic Oldies “Jammin 92.5” KDJM and as a programmer at defunct internet platform Lycos Radio. He has also worked for Clear Channel in Minneapolis and Sacramento as a News Anchor, Talk host, and Smooth Jazz DJ.
iHeartMedia Denver announced today that Marty Lenz has been named the new morning co-host for KOA NewsRadio 850 AM & 94.1 FM, Colorado’s News, Traffic & Weather Station, effective January 8, 2018. Colorado’s Morning News with April Zesbaugh & Marty Lenz will air weekdays from 5 until 10a.m. MT.
Lenz will join co-host April Zesbaugh every morning for a fast-paced show featuring frequent local and national news updates, traffic and weather together every ten minutes and interviews with the day’s newsmakers. KOA NewsRadio broadcasts the latest news, traffic and weather to Denver listeners.

Lenz is a Denver native who joins KOA NewsRadio from KCBS in San Francisco, where he spent the past seven years as a news anchor. During that time, he also served as a TV personality in the San Francisco Bay Area and provided news content and sports reporting for various outlets. Prior to moving to San Francisco, Lenz spent many years with iHeartMedia, including on-air positions for its Denver brands. He is a graduate of Colorado State University.
