Max Media has announced the appointment of Rusty James as Vice President of Operations and Programming for its Norfolk VA cluster starting July 9.
James has been programming at Midwest Communications Evansville IN since 2005 and rose to Operations Manager in 2014. At Max Media he will oversee Classic Hits “92.9 The Wave” WVBW, Sports “94.1 ESPN Radio” WVSP, Country “97.3 The Eagle” WGH-FM, CHR “Hot 100.5” WVHT, and Oldies 1310 WGH. James fills the position that has been vacant since John Shomby departed in February 2016 to become Director of Nash Programming for Cumulus Media.

as the new Vice President of Operations and Programming.Rusty got his start in radio in 1983 at 14 years of age in Frankfort, KY. For the last 13½ years Rusty has been with Midwest Communications in Evansville, Indiana as Program Director with the last 4 years as Operations Manager for WIKY, WSTO, WABX and WLFW.
Rusty is also an Indy Film Actor in several films including his latest with Will Chase, “E-Bowla”. Rusty is married to his beautiful wife Cindy and they have one over- grown Doberman Pincher named Diesel.
