After closing on its purchase of Oldies 88.5 WMCE-FM Erie PA, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine is acquiring Oldies “Hitland 106.9” 1220 WSRQ Sarasota and translators 95.9 W240DP Venice and 106.9 W295BH Sarasota FL from Jim Lampl’s Florida Talk Radio Inc. for $520,000. The University, which operates a second campus in Bradenton FL, will convert the station to non-commercial but retain the format.
Two groups operating in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre market have worked out a deal to transfer a station across the New York state line. Times-Shamrock sells 104.5 WQFM Hancock NY, which currently simulcasts Classic Rock “Rock 107” WEZX Scranton, to Bold Gold Media Group for a $73,821 tower rent credit over a ten year lease. The WQFM call letters, which hold historical value at the buyer’s partially owned cluster in Milwaukee, will be retained by the company.
Results Broadcasting of Rhinelander sells Country “Coyote 93.7” WCYE Three Lakes and Sports 96.5 WHOH Rhinelander WI to Heartland Communications for $440,000. Heartland began operating the stations via Time Brokerage Agreement on August 1.
Moody Bible Institute of Chicago acquires Gospel 950 WJKB Moncks Corner and 107.7 W299CY Charleston SC from Kirkman Broadcasting for $425,000.
