Cumulus Media has appointed Bill Gentry as VP/Market Manager for its Birmingham AL cluster.
Gentry most recently served in the same role for Alpha Media Lousiville after a long run with Clear Channel/iHeartMedia where he oversaw their Louisville stations from 1998-2007 and then served as Regional Market President for Louisville, Lexington, and Somerset KY an Nashville TN from 2010-2015.
CUMULUS MEDIA announces that it has appointed 30-year radio broadcasting executive Bill Gentry as Vice President/Market Manager, CUMULUS MEDIA-Birmingham, AL. Gentry joins CUMULUS MEDIA from Alpha Media-Louisville, KY, where he was Senior Vice President/Market Manager. Prior to that, he was Regional Market President for iHeartMedia, where he managed radio stations in Louisville, KY; Lexington, KY; Somerset, KY; and Nashville, TN. Gentry was also Senior Vice President for Clear Channel Communications, where he oversaw the operations of Clear Channel stations in Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, Western Pennsylvania, Indianapolis, IN, and Memphis, TN.
Gentry served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Broadcasters Association from 2011-2016 and was honored as 2014 CRS/CA Medium Market Manager/GM of the Year. He earned a B.A. degree in Telecommunications from the University of Kentucky.
