Cox Media Group Urban AC “Kiss 104.1” WALR-FM Palmetto/Atlanta GA has announced the addition of Terri Avery as its new Program Director.
Avery spent thirteen years at CBS Radio Charlotte programming Urban “Power 98” 97.9 WPEG and Urban AC “V101.9” WBAV. Since 2015 she has served as an instructor and station manager at Carolina School of Broadcasting. She has also programmed for Radio-One in Baltimore and Washington DC and Davis Broadcasting Columbus GA in her career.
Avery fills the opening created by Tony Kidd’s exit as Senior VP/Programming for Cox Media Atlanta last October.
Cox Media Group (CMG) Atlanta has named Terri Avery program director at WALR-FM Kiss 104.1, effective Jan. 22, 2019. In this role, Avery will utilize her extensive skills and knowledge to oversee programming and brand strategy for the station.
“I am so excited to join the Cox Media Group Atlanta team and serve as the program director of WALR. I look forward to working alongside Chris Eagan, Steve Smith, Donna Hall, Tim Clarke and the Kiss 104.1 team,” said Avery. “Look out ATL, here I come.”
Most recently, Avery served as the radio station manager and instructor at Carolina School of Broadcasting in Charlotte, North Carolina. Prior to this role, she spent fourteen years as the operations manager/program director for CBS Radio’s WPEG/WBAV in Charlotte. Her career also includes programming stops in Baltimore, Dallas and Houston.
