Syndication Notes 2/20: New Affiliates For Tom Joyner & Tino Cochino
Despite ending this December, Reach Media’s Tom Joyner Morning Show has added a new affiliate as Broomfield Broadcasting R&B Oldies “Jammin Hits 97.9” 1170 WDEK/97.9 W250CG Lexington/Columbia SC launches the show. Tom Joyner had been off the air in Columbia since the start of the year when the Cumulus owned “Kiss 103.1” WLXC picked up the new Rick & Sasha show.
Following the addition of Saga Communications’ CHR “Energy 106.9” WNRG-FM Milwaukee last week, YEA Networks’ Tino Cochino Radio has debuted in evenings on Saga Urban “99.3 The Box” W257BQ Charleston/WMXZ-HD2 Isle of Palms SC.
YEA Networks, known for creating and delivering the highest-quality buzzworthy audio content to engaged audiences in markets of all sizes, announces that nationally syndicated Tino Cochino Radio has signed two new Saga Communications, Inc. radio stations to its fast-growing affiliate group – CHR station WNRG-FM/Energy 106.9 in Milwaukee, WI, 3pm-7pm) and Urban Hip Hop station WMXZ-HD2/99.3 The Box in Charleston, SC (6pm-10pm). Earlier this month, Tino Cochino Radio welcomed its first new affiliates of 2019, KORQ/96Q in Abilene, TX (3pm-7pm), and KHQT/HOT 103.1 in Las Cruces, NM (7pm-11pm). Tino Cochino Radio is now heard on nearly 40 affiliates across the U.S., including over 50% of the top 25 U.S. Hispanic Markets. The personality-driven next-generation audio brand launched nationwide in 2018.

American Urban Radio Networks has promoted Andy Anderson to President of Sales for the company overseeing sales, marketing strategy, digital expansion and new business development. Anderson has served as AURN’s VP/Sales for the Eastern Region for the past eleven years and has also worked at Billboard Magazine.
Andy Anderson has been named President, Sales, for the networks 500+ radio station affiliates. Mr. Anderson will be responsible for the network’s sales, marketing strategy, digital expansion and new business development. For the past 11 years, he was Vice President Sales, Eastern Region, accounting for more than 80% of the network’s total revenue.
Prior to AURN, Mr. Anderson worked for Billboard magazine as Director, Urban/Canadian Advertising, the first African-American to hold such a position with the magazine. While there, he created the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Conference and Awards and developed special advertising tributes for musical powerhouses such as Earth, Wind & Fire, Boyz II Men, Brian McKnight and Master P to name a few, which brought in millions of dollars in incremental revenue to the magazine.
Mr. Anderson began his 35-year career in sales and marketing when he was recruited by Libbey-Owens-Ford his senior year at Howard University. Mr. Anderson is an alumnus of the NAB’s Executive Development Program for Radio Broadcasters at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business.
Westwood One News has announced it has signed an agreement to provide breaking news coverage to 45 of Cox Media Group’s music stations including stations in Atlanta, Houston, Tampa, Miami, Orlando, and San Antonio. Westwood One has also picked up 820 WWBA Tampa as its 900th affiliate.
