People Moves 5/14: Fitzsimmons Rises In Los Angeles; Moon Setting In Minneapolis

Go Country 105 KKGO Los AngelesMount Wilson FM Broadcasters has announced the addition of Angie Fitzsimmons for mornings at “Go Country 105” KKGO Los Angeles starting May 27. Fitzsimmons previously served as a producer for Carson Daly’s morning show on 97.1 KAMP Los Angeles and has also produced for The Adam Carolla Show, Mancow, and Ace & TJ during her career. She fills the opening created by Graham Bunn’s exit last summer.


Larry ‘Moon’ Thompson has announced he will retire from afternoons at Hubbard Hot AC “KS95” 94.5 KSTP-FM St. Paul/Minneapolis this fall. Moon has been with KSTP-FM since 2002 after previously spending nine years in mornings at KHMX Houston and has also worked at KMZQ Las Vegas and KRKY Denver.

Moon has had Multiple Sclerosis since 2005 and is retiring this year to focus on his health. Co-host Staci Matthews will remain in the daypart with a new co-host to be found.


Jodi Vale has exited middays at Connoisseur Media AC “K98.3” WKJY Hempstead NY after twenty years with the station. During her time at WKJY she has hosted both middays and afternoons and served as Music Director. She has previously worked at “105.1 The Buzz” WDBZ New York and multiple stations on Long Island.


SummitMedia Country “Q103.1” WQNU Louisville has announced the addition of Kristin Monica as APD/afternoon host. Monica joins WQNU from Cumulus Peoria where she served as midday host at Country “97.3 Nash-FM” WFYR and afternoon host at Rhythmic CHR “Peoria’s 92.3” WZPW.


Perry Stone has exited as Operations Manager of Mid-West Family Broadcasting’s News/Talk 970 WMAY/94.7 W234CC and PD/afternoon host at Rock 97.7 WQLZ Springfield IL as the PD position has been elimnated. Mark Van Allen, OM of Mid-West Family’s Rockford IL cluster, will add on those duties for Springfield. Mark Zander, Program Director of “104.9 The X” WXRX Rockford will take on music scheduling duties for WQLZ, while WQLZ morning host Mo Lightning and middayer Kyle Hutchinson will share leadership of the station’s marketing and promotions.


Hunter Meyer has exited as Program Director/morning host at Dick Broadcasting Country “Bob 106.9” WUBB Bluffton SC/Savannah GA after just over a year. Meyer joined WUBB from Alpha Media Classic Rock “Fox 102.3” WMFX Columbia SC last April. Co-host Leslie Rivers, who joined with Meyer, remains in place.
