Not included in the deal are any of the station’s current Regional Mexican “Mundo-FM 102.9” assets. The call letters, service marks, contracts, and employees all remain with Gray Television.
Original Report 5/16: Alpha Media is expanding its Amarillo TX cluster with the purchase of Regional Mexican “Mundo-FM 102.9” KEYU-FM Amarillo from Gray Television.
No terms for deal were disclosed. KEYU-FM joins an Alpha Media Amarillo cluster that includes Country 97.9 KGNC-FM, Classic Hits “100.9 The Eagle” KXGL, and News/Talk/Sports 710 KGNC/97.5 K248DE.
KEYU-FM was one of two radio stations owned by Gray Television along with “La Ley” 104.7 KTXC LaMesa/Midland TX. The pair bounced from Drewry Communications to Raycom to Gray over recent television group consolidation.
This is to announce that a contract has been signed and an application is being filed with the FCC for the transfer of KEYU-FM in Amarillo, Texas from Gray Television to Alpha Media.
The Seller, Gray Television, is an Atlanta-based company.
The Buyer, Alpha Media, is an Oregon-based company, headed by Bob Proffitt. KEYU-FM operates at 102.9 MHz, with 100 kW at 305’ HAAT.
