Connoisseur Media rebrands AC “K98.3” WKJY Hempstead NY to its heritage “98.3 K-Joy” moniker.
The change, taking place at 5pm, comes with what Program Director Jon Daniels describes as focusing on “comfortable songs with instant familiarity” describing pop hits from the 80s through now along with what they are calling “KJOY Classics” from the 1970s. WKJY was previously known as “K-Joy” from 1980 until 2013.
With the rebranding, the station is moving John Tesh’s “Intelligence For Your Life” from a 7pm start to 5pm and adding a two hour commercial-free music block from 9am to 11am. The changes follow the exit of Music Director/afternoon host Jodi Vale earlier this week.
