Current.org reports that Talia Schlanger will step down as host of NPR’s syndicated World Cafe this fall to “pursue new creative endeavors”.
Schalnger joined the show, based at University of Pennsylvania’s 88.5 WXPN Philadelphia, in April 2017 succeeding original host David Dye. She previously served as a host and producer in her native Toronto at CBC Radio 2.
The University posted a want-ad for a new host earlier this month.
WXPN Associate GM Bruce Warren told Current, “Talia has made an indelible mark on World Cafe, broadening the musical diversity of our guests and enhancing the journalistic scope of the show. We look to build on those contributions as we seek a new host for the program.”
