iHeartMedia Urban “Real 92.3” KRRL Los Angeles has promoted DJ Amen to Music Director.
Amen has been with KRRL since 2015 serving as a mixer after previously spending a decade at 106.1 KMEL San Francisco. He fills the position most recently held by ‘DJ Carisma’ until her departure for TuneIn.com last fall.
iHeartMedia announced today that DJ Amen has been named Music Director for REAL 92.3, LA’s New Home for Hip Hop, effective immediately. iHeartMedia Los Angeles has a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands and franchises — both broadcast and digital — encompassing more than eight stations comprised of music, talk and news formats.
iHeartMedia has the leading consumer reach and influence across multiple platforms and delivers more live programming than any other media company. As Music Director for REAL 92.3, DJ Amen will be instrumental in the day-to-day operations of the station’s music programming and musical decisions. He will report to Doc Wynter, Executive Vice President of Hip Hop Programming Strategy for iHeartMedia and Program Director for REAL 92.3.
DJ Amen has become one of the most respected and influential DJs hailing from the West Coast over the last decade. He began working for iHeartMedia in 2006 on the turntables for the legendary 106 KMEL in San Francisco. In 2015, he joined REAL 92.3 as a DJ, mixing daily for the newly launched Hip Hop station and in 2016, contributed to the launch of REAL 92.3’s top-rated show, “Young California Radio.”
