KHYI/KXEZ Sustain Damage From Dallas Tornado
In addition to 89.3 KNON Dallas, two other stations were directly hit by Sunday evening’s tornado that struck Dallas.
Metro Broadcasters’ suburban targeted Americana/Red Dirt Country “95.3 The Range” KHYI Howe and Classic Country 92.1 KXEZ Farmersville TX, which operate from studios in North Dallas, saw their building directly hit by the tornado with multiple windows blown out from their eighth floor offices.
Day 2 of not being able to access our studios/offices. Have no fear, a little tornado damage can’t keep the best Texas/Americana music off the air. Thanks for your support.
Unfortunately for KHYI, the incident happened hours after someone on the station’s account made an ill-advised “joke” about the tornado killing the entire Philadelphia Eagles roster following their poor performance that night against the Dallas Cowboys.
@khyi are y’all for real out here making tornado jokes?! There’s houses and businesses completely leveled, and probably real, actual loss of life. That’s not the kind of thing you make light of… pic.twitter.com/XtDU9ybKeU

We’d like to apologize for an insensitive and ill-timed football-related tweet posted earlier this evening. We hope everyone in our listening area, and beyond, is safe this evening.
