After announcing its intent to sell the station in August due to lack of students, Capital Area Career Center has taken 88.3 WQNA Springfield IL silent ahead of a sale to Covenant Network.
While not yet filed with the FCC, The State Journal-Register reports that the St. Louis based Catholic operator will pay $47,000 for WQNA. Covenant Network already has a Springfield presence on a pair of translators in the city: 88.9 W205BG and 104.9 W285EX Springfield.
Springfield Community Broadcasters, a non-profit formed by the people whose programming mostly made up the WQNA lineup released a statement that they were in the process of acquiring another license in the Springfield market to resume their programming on.
