Entercom Country “99.5 The Wolf” KWJJ Portland has filled its morning opening with the addition of Nick Steele and Kristin Flowers-Steele starting January 22.
The couple most recently hosted mornings at Bonneville AC 96.5 KOIT San Francisco until departing in December ahead of a move.
Steele and Flowers started at KOIT in January 2017 after previously working together at Country “101.9 The Wolf” KNTY Sacramento and CHR “100.7 Mix-FM” WMGI Terre Haute. Nick Steele previously worked at KLUC Las Vegas, KLJT Tyler TX, and WCLI Dayton OH, while Kristin worked in News/Talk at KXNT Las Vegas and KTRH Houston.
They fill the opening created by the exits of Mikel Chase and Amy Faust in October.
Entercom, a leading media and entertainment company and one of the two largest radio broadcasters in the U.S., today announced Nick and Kristen as hosts of the new morning show on 99.5 The Wolf (KWJJ-FM), Portland’s No. 1 in country music: Nashville’s voice in the northwest. The “Nick and Kristen” show will air weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. PT, beginning Wednesday, January 22.
“Nick and Kristen’s accessible sound, positivity and family friendly approach will resonate not only with new country fans but the entire Portland community,” said Kim Martinez, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Entercom Portland. “Their show will bring the trials of a married couple to life in funny, creative and interactive ways. We’re equally as excited to share our lives and bring the best new country to Portland.”
Prior to joining Entercom, Nick and Kristen served as on-air hosts for KOIT-FM in San Francisco for the last three years. They previously held the same roles for KNTY-FM in Sacramento, CA. The couple met ten years ago in Las Vegas where Kristen served as an anchor for sister station News Talk Radio 840 AM (KXNT-AM) and Nick served as an on-air personality for sister station 98.5 KLUC (KLUC-FM).
