After a day of stunting with a loop of Kenny Rogers “The Gambler”, iHeartMedia’s 1350 WARF Akron OH relaunched as “Fox Sports 1350 The Gambler“.
The launch comes with a handful of programming changes. Mark ‘Munch’ Bishop moves his local show from afternoons to mornings. The station will add Fox Sports Radio’s Doug Gottlieb Show for 3-5pm before switching over to BetR Network’s “My Guys in the Desert” hosted by Brent Musberger. WARF will also carry BetR’s “The Green Zone” from 9pm-12am.
The company is now positioning WARF as part of its Cleveland cluster with the relaunch as opposed to its Akron/Canton holdings.
iHeartMedia Cleveland announced today the debut of the new Fox Sports 1350 AM, The Gambler, effective immediately.
The new station will focus on sports talk with a concentration on gambling, including top of the hour wagering updates from the VSiN (Vegas Stats and Information) and will feature programming from the BetR Network including “My Guys in the Desert,” hosted by American Sportscaster, Brent Musberger. The station will also broadcast a mix of programming offering betting guides, handicapping and betting strategies as well as signature programming from Fox Sports Radio including “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” and “Fox NFL Kickoff Simulcast,” as well as “The Red Zone” and “The Lombardi Line,” hosted by former Cleveland Browns general manager, Mike Lombardi.
“The Gambler is the future of sports radio,” said Keith Hotchkiss, President of iHeartMedia’s North Ohio region. “We are thrilled to bring this hot new format to the market, helping Clevelanders navigate the ever-growing world of sports wagering.”

WARF is currently running a loop of Kenny Rogers’ “The Gambler” along with snippets of Sports Gambling talk shows. It is likely the station will relaunch on Monday with a mix of its previous “Fox Sports Radio” network programming and Sports Gambling info much like iHeartMedia’s “The Gambler” 1480 WDAS/102.5 W273DO Philadelphia as the company has registered 1350TheGambler.com and FoxSports1350TheGambler.com.

The biggest sports news story of the year breaks, and WARF dropped the format to go into stunt mode.
What a joke.
