Cumulus Media has appointed Mike Preston as Program Director for its Country combo of “New Country 96.3” KSCS and “99.5 The Wolf” KPLX Fort Worth/Dallas.
Preston most recently served as Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Baltimore and PD of Country 93.1 WPOC and Variety Hits “102.7 Jack-FM” WQSR until exiting in the company’s January cuts. Preston is best known for his long run programming “106.1 Kiss-FM” KBKS Seattle where he also served as CHR Format VP for CBS Radio. He has also programmed 94.5 KWSS San Jose, the Entercom combo of Country “100.7 The Wolf” KKWF and Rhythmic Hot AC “Hot 103.7” KHTP Seattle, served as VP/Programming for CBS Radio San Francisco, and APD/MD of 95.5 WPLJ New York.
Preston fills the opening created by the exit of Mac Daniels last month.
CUMULUS MEDIA announces that it has appointed 25+-year radio veteran Mike Preston as Program Director for Dallas/Fort Worth Country radio stations KPLX/99.5 The Wolf and KSCS/New Country 96.3. Preston was most recently Senior Vice President of Programming, iHeartMedia Baltimore, MD, and was Program Director for the group’s Country station WPOC and Adult Hits WQSR/102.7 JACK-FM. Prior to that, he was Program Director of Entercom Country station KKWF/100.7 The Wolf and Rhythmic AC station KHTP/Hot 103.7 in Seattle, WA. Previously, Preston was a senior programmer with CBS Radio in San Francisco and Seattle and served at ABC Radio’s WPLJ in New York.
