Davidson County Broadcasters has dropped the Classic Hits format of “Majic 99.9/106.1” 1440 WLXN/99.9 W260BG/106.1 W291DD Lexington/Winston-Salem NC to Educational Media Foundation’s Contemporary Worship “Air 1” network.
WLXN owner Gig Hilton told the Davidson County Dispatch last week, “There is a planned format change coming to WLXN-AM in the near future. The date and time has not been defined, as there are certain contractual program obligations that must be fulfilled first. However there is no sale pending.”
WLXN had picked up the “Majic” identity in November 2014 after it had previously been used by former sister station 94.1 WTHZ from 2006 until 2010 when it was sold to EMF to become “K-Love” WWLV.
The Air 1 network is also heard in the Greensboro/Winston-Salem market on EMF’s 92.7 W224CO Greensboro, 107.1 W296CV High Point, and 88.9 W205CP Winston-Salem all fed via WWLV-HD2.
