Midwest Communications flipped 90s Hits “Fuel 92.1” WQTX St. John’s/Lansing MI to Rhythmic AC “Stacks 92.1“.
Positioning as “The Hits That Power The Party,’ the station has taken its name from the three smokestacks at Lansing Board of Water & Light’s Eckert Power Plant which serve as the tallest buildings in the Lansing skyline. The format is attempting to fill the lack of Adult R&B hole in the market with a broader mass-appeal presentation focusing on R&B/Classic Hip-Hop pop crossovers from the 70s through 2000s.
The new format launched on Thursday, March 26 after stunting for two days with a loop of “The Song That Never Ends”. Celina Sunfield, Brand Manager of Classic Country “94.1 Duke-FM” WWDK Jackson adds those duties for WQTX.
