Schlesinger Communications, owners of Rock 92.1 WSQV and Sports 1230 WBPZ/96.9 W245DB Lock Haven PA, are expanding into the adjacent State College area with the purchase of Magnum Broadcasting’s stations in two concurrent acquisitions. The first deal will see Schlesinger pay $350,000 for News/Talk 970 WBLF/106.3 W292EZ Bellefonte and 80s Hits “Q106.9” WQKK Renovo. The second deal will send Rock “105.9 Qwik Rock” WQCK Philipsburg for $25,000 and the assumption of a $649,967.22 promissory note owed to former WQCK owner Clifford Mack from its 2004 purchase of the station.
Brantley Broadcast Associates sells 1570 WLEE and the CP for 98.1 W251CN Winona MS to Seth Kent’s Back Fourty Broadcasting for $5000. Kent manages Country “95.1 The Farm” WONA-FM Vaiden, which is 50% owned by his wife Susan Kent.
George C Hudson III sells Gospel “Mighty 1090” WENR and the CP for 105.5 W288DR Englewood TN to Michael Beverly for $16,800. Beverly owns two other AM/translator combos in Eastern Tennessee: 970 WDNT/101.1 W266DE Spring City and 1280 WALI Dayton/97.1 W246DG Cleveland.
Soaring Eagle Productions acquires College 88.9 WHEI Tiffin OH from Heidelberg College for $43,500. WHEI will join the buyer’s “Shine-FM” Christian AC network also heard on 88.5 WKEN Kenton and 88.9 WSOH Zanesfield.
Linfield College donates 90.3 KSLC McMinnville OR to All Classical Public Media. The acquirer began operating KSLC via Public Service Operating Agreement on March 1 as a simulcast of Classical 89.9 KQAC Portland.
Family Life Ministries purchases Christian “Dove-FM” 89.1 WGIP Tidioute/Oil City PA from Calvary Chapel Russell for $10,000 and the cancellation of the $21,882.24 balance of a promissory note owed.
Destiny Worship Center buys Christian 91.1 WPSM Fort Walton Beach FL from Fort Walton Beach Educational Broadcasting Foundation. The sale contract was not included in the filing.
