The Story of Wolfman Jack – January 21, 1938 – July 1, 1995
Wolfman Jack is the most famous Rock ‘n’ Roll disc-jockey in the world. During his radio career, Wolfman Jack was heard on over 2000 radio stations in 53 countries. He was also the first radio personality to nationally distribute his weekly show.
Wolfman Jack was immortalized in the movie ‘American Graffiti’ and hosted nine seasons of the NBC highly successful live music series “The Midnight Special.” Millions of people listen to him every night on radio for his howling sounds and the cool music he plays.
Wolfman Jack belonged to that innocent era of Rock ‘n’ Roll when disc-jockeys could make records hits. This is the era when a DJ with a catchy moniker along with an infectious personality and a gravelly voice, could make a DJ as big a star as the records he played.
