iHeartMedia has announced the appointment of AJ Punjabi as Market President for its Charleston SC operations.
Pubjabi joins iHeartMedia after spending his career at Cox Media Group. He has served as General Sales Manager for Cox Miami since May 2015 after previously rising through the ranks of the company’s Atlanta operations as Account Executive, Senior Digital Strategist, Digital Strategy Manager and Digital Sales Manage between 2006 and 2015.
iHeartMedia announced today that AJ Punjabi has been named Market President for Charleston, effective immediately. iHeartMedia Charleston has a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands and franchises — both broadcast and digital — encompassing more than four stations comprised of music, talk and news formats.
iHeartMedia has the leading consumer reach and influence across multiple platforms and delivers more live programming than any other media company. As Market President, Punjabi will work closely with the programming, business and sales teams and will oversee all of iHeartMedia’s radio stations in the Charleston market. He will report to Ron Hill, Area President of iHeartMedia Carolinas.

Punjabi joins iHeartMedia Charleston from Cox Media Group in Miami, where he most recently served as the general sales manager. He also served as the digital sales manager for Cox Media Group in Atlanta and Athens, Georgia and as an account executive and senior digital strategist for WSB-TV in Atlanta. He is a graduate of Indiana University.
